Wedding shot by Candle Light by www.atlantaartisticweddings.com

If you have been following www.atlantaartisticweddings.com you will know that I love working with natural light.  In honor of Dragon Con this weekend in Atlanta I am sharing this wedding. This is wedding is a small orthodox wedding with a Dr. Who theme.  If you notice in the groom's pocket is a sonic screwdriver.   This is one of my favorite photos because of a lot of things happening in it.  One is the candle light that is used and placed.  As you can see I did not use a flash so I would not detracts from the action.  I think the wedding photograph captures the perfect moment that when the groom puts on the wedding ring on his brides finger.  The candles in the center of the photo lights the moment perfectly.  Thank goodness for the modern camera and they way they need less and less light so you can capture photography like this.

I hope that you enjoy photos as much as I enjoyed taking them.

Wedding Details and Here Comes the Bride!

As I do more and more weddings the things that stand out to me are the details and the little moments that are not the necessarily what everyone is looking at.  I love the little moments.  This bride spent so much time on the little details of her wedding.  The cute little wagon as sitting there all by it’s self when I noticed a couple of the kids came by and started playing with it.  I did not notice the sign on the wagon until the children started riding in it.  When I saw the sign “Here Comes the Bride” and the little girl pulling her brother I just had to take the photo.
I hope that you enjoy photos as much as I enjoyed taking them.

Dr. Who Wedding! in honor of the new Doctor

As a Atlanta wedding photographer I have the honor of doing some very unique weddings.  On one occasion it was a Dr. Who themed wedding.  I am including a detail of the bouquet.  If you are looking at and wondering what it is, it is a sonic screw driver!  This was such a fun wedding.  I just love it when a bride and groom make such a bold statement and have fun at their wedding!  Because that is what it is all about!  Having fun at your wedding!

So in honor the new Dr.Who series coming out this Saturday on BBC America I am posting some more photos from the Doctor Who wedding!  I hope that you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed taking them.

Dr. Who and the Tradis Wedding Cake Topper by atlantaartisticweddings

Hi folks! In case you didn't know I am a huge Dr. Who fan!  I have been watching it since Tom Baker and his companions.  Last year I meet a wonderful couple and one of the first questions they had for me was "do you like Dr. Who?".  Right then I knew this was going to be a awesome wedding!  They had a Doctor Who themed wedding.  The bouquet was a sonic screw driver, the topper on the cake was a Tardis and they had Jelly Babies for snacks!!! It was one of my favorite weddings ever!
So in honor the new Dr.Who series coming out this Saturday on BBC America I am posting some more photos from the Doctor Who wedding!  I hope that you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed taking them.

Shoes are a Brides Best Friend on her Wedding Day

Shoes are one of the most important accessories.  You don't think about it much but you really need to think about shoes almost before you pick out a wedding dress. Because you need to know how much you need to alter your dress based on the size of your heels on your shoes.  You want to be comfortable in them to because you will be wearing them all day! I have seen all goes of shoes at weddings.  This pair was for a great bride.  She wanted some high pumps to lengthen her figure and make her legs look longer.
Another thing I have seen is women put certain things in their shoes.  You all know about putting the penny in your shoe for good luck. I had this one bride who put photos of her grandparents in her shoes.  Since they were very special people to her and they had passed.  It was her way of having them walk down the aisle.
Just this week I had a bride wear cowboy boots.  She was getting married to a fine young man from Texas.  It was her way to pay homage to his home state.

Great Wedding at Beth Jacob this weekend

www.atlantaartisticweddings.com at Beth Jacob synague
A Father and his Daughter on their Wedding Day

I recently had the honor of photographing a wedding at Beth Jacob Synagogue  The wedding was absolutely beautiful.  The Synagogue is beautiful. It has high ceilings with stained glass all around the roof letting in a soft natural light.

I wanted to share this photograph.  I think it captures a tender moment between a father and daughter as they are walking down the aisle. My favorite part of a wedding is capturing the emotional moments in a day so the family can look back at the photos and feel the emotions of that day in the photographs.

As you can tell I do not try to over edit a photograph I tend to be a natural photographer using the natural light.  That way you can be unobtrusive and not be a distraction to the event or moment.

You can also see a video and highlights from the wedding day at:
