Classic Truck for Your Southern Wedding | Atlanta Wedding Photographer

wedding photography by www.atlantaartisticweddings.com

As a Atlanta Wedding Photographer I get to see a lot of different kinds of weddings.  I just love the idea of a classic car to to add a little charm to your wedding.  They have so much personality.  This couple got married at one of the many Historic Wedding Venues in Atlanta.  I just loved the them using the classic pickup truck.  It was not too formal and yet it gave a classic feel to a beautiful wedding.  The couple exited riding in the back of the truck with wedding guests waving good by and lighting the exit with sparklers.  It was a wonderful send off to a wonderful couple!

Wedding at The Solarium at Old Scottish Rite | Photography by www.atlantaartisticweddings.com

I wanted to share with another historic wedding venue in AtlantaThe Solarium is a historic wedding venue located at 321 West Hill Street, Decatur, Georgia.   It is in the middle of the Oakhurst Village o f Decatur.  It was designed in 1918 by architect Neel Reid.  It was part of the of the series of buildings at the Old Scottish Rite.  The other support buildings are still there.  The Solarium is a elegant backdrop for you weddings.  It has that historic charm that I love.  As you can tell from all my posts that I just love the historic architecture of the south.  The Solarium has these huge windows in front and that let in the most beautiful natural light.  The convenient location and natural light make for a wonderful location for your wedding.

I want to say what it was for Atlanta Artistic Weddings to shoot this couple's wedding there.  They could not have been more thoughtful towards each other.  They are such a wonderful couple!

I want to congrats to this wonderful couple!

The Atlanta Skyline is a Beautiful Backdrop to Your Wedding! | Photography by www.atlantaartisticweddings.com

wedding photography by www.atlantaartisticweddings.com
Wedding photography by www.atlantaartisticweddings.com
Well I know I have been posting a lot on venues and locations for Atlanta Wedding Photography.  I have mentioned places such as Piedmont Park and all the venues around there such as the the Georgian Terrace, Fox Theater and Magnolia Room.  The one thing that is consistent on all the venues is they have a view of the Atlanta Skyline.  The Atlanta Skyline makes for a romantic back drop to your wedding or engagement photos.  It reminds me of a classic movie where you see the couple going against all odds and finding the perfect person in a city of millions!

I just love this shot here.   It was taken at Piedmont Park in the middle of downtown Atlanta.  I purposely made the couple a silhouette.  One it gives a since of romance since the kiss is what is keeping the couple together.   Second is that you are not worried about fashion or trends It could be taken 10 years ago or 10 years from now.

I want to congrats to this wonderful couple!

Bride and Ring Bearer Dance at Wedding | Photography by www.AtlantaArtisticWeddings.com

Wedding Dance Photography by www.AtlantaArtisticWeddings.com

It is great to share your wedding day with others.  This is one of my favorite photos for so many reasons. One is how gracious this bride is!  She is sharing her day with her family friend and one of the brides maid's son.  They are all just basking in the glow and the happiness of the day.  You tell by the smile on the guy she is dancing with.  The smile on the little ring barrier on the bottom is just beside himself and is so happy to be taking part of the special day.  You can tell by the hearty laugh that this woman is enjoying her wedding day which is what it is all about!
I want to congrats to this wonderful couple!

Atlanta Wedding Photographer does Indian Wedding in the Blue Ridge Mountains | Photography by www.AtlantaArtisticWeddings.com

wedding photographer David Diener
Wedding Photography by www.atlantaartisticweddings.com

As a Atlanta wedding photographer I recently had the honor of photographing a Indian wedding.  Some times I think I have one of the coolest jobs in the world!  I get to document so many personal moments and different cultures.  I just love Indian weddings!  They are so colorful and there are so many wonderful customs that are shared with the guests and bring everyone together.  While not all Indian weddings are Hindu here are a few Hindu wedding customs.
There is no single standard Hindu marriage ceremony.  Regional variations and considerable flexibility in the rituals are prevalent. The variations may be based on family traditions, local traditions, resources of the marrying families, and other factors. Some of the key rituals are performed in slightly different ways in different regions.
There are a few key rituals common in a Hindu wedding ceremony. These are
  • Kanyadaan - the giving away of daughter by the father
  • Panigrahana - a ritual in presence of fire, where the groom takes the bride's hand as a sign of their union
  • Saptapadi - is the most important ritual. It is called the seven step ritual, where each step corresponds to a vow groom makes to bride, and a vow the bride makes to groom. The vows are pronounced in Sanskrit in long form, or short quicker form, sometimes also in the language of the groom and bride. In many weddings, Saptapadi is performed near a fire; and after each of the seven oaths to each other, the groom and bride perform the ritual of agnipradakshinam - walk around the fire, with part of each other's clothing tied to each other. The fire is a form of yajna - a vedic ritual where fire is the divine witness (to the marriage).[9] After Saptapadi, the couple are considered husband and wife.
This particular couple I did their wedding photographer could not have been more kind or more gracious.  It was such an honor to be their wedding photographer on their wedding day.

I want to congrats to this wonderful couple!

Have Fun at Your Wedding and Dance! | photography by www.atlantaartisticweddings.com

First Dance wedding photography by www.atlantaartisticweddings.com

This is one of my favorite wedding photos was taken recently.  The reason it is one of my favorite is it shows a bride and groom being uninhibited during their first dance.  As a Atlanta wedding photographer I see many weddings but what I really like is when the bride and groom just have fun!  During the wedding day it is easy to get caught up in the little details of the day but you need to take time to enjoy it!  It is sort of like a really good meal that takes you a long time to cook.  When you are done cooking you should take the time to enjoy it!  There is a lot of time and planning that goes into a weddings.  You should take the time to enjoy it with the people you love!

I want to congrats to this wonderful couple!

Military Wedding and Saber Arch | Photography by Atlanta Artistic Weddings

Military Wedding in Augusta Georgia photography by www.atlantaartisticweddings.com

Military weddings are the best!  When I say it is an honor shooting shooting weddings I really mean it.  This wedding took in Augusta, Georgia.  The venue was across the street from Augusta National Golf Course. This couple was great!  They wanted to incorporate some of the military customs in their wedding.  The big one was the Saber Arch.  The Saber Arch is a wedding tradition in which the swords or sabers are used to salute a newly married couple. The bride and groom pass under an honorary arch of sabers.  The tradition is a world wide.  It's tradition has origin goes back to the British navy.  Officers and enlisted personnel in the bridal party wear formal dress uniforms.  The bride and groom proceed into the arch , and as the couple passes through.  The last two saber bearers usually lower the sabers in front of the couple, detaining them momentarily. Before releasing the couple, the saber bearer to the couple's left gives the bride a swat on her backside with his saber, announcing "welcome the military!"

I want to congrats to this wonderful couple and thank you for your service!

Historic Wedding Venues in Roswell, Ga | Wedding Photography by www.AtlantaArtisticWeddings.com

Below is a map of some of the historic wedding venues that Atlanta Artistic Weddings has had the honor of being the wedding photographer for.

One of the great things of being a wedding photographer in Atlanta is that you get to work at some wonderful historic wedding venues.   There are several great wedding venues around that area.  The wedding photograph taken at night was at Naylor Hall.  It a classic southern mansion with a beautiful long drive way leading up to the entrance.  The Garden at Great Oaks is a historic wedding venue with a home that is actually so historically accurate that doubles as a museum and you can take tours!  Roswell Founders Hall has a beautiful setting.  It has a long walk way to the main entrance to the large columns in front. Roswell Mill Club has a large parking area and when you walk down you can see the covered bridge and there is a trail to the mill ruins.

2015 Wedding and Enagement Photography in the Fall at Peidmont Park Atlanta, Georgia | by www.atlantaartisticweddings.com

Atlanta Piedmont Park by www.AtlantaArtisticWeddings.com
Well we all know it is cold outside!  I wanted to share a fun engagement shot at Piedmont Park that was taken recently.  I have been so blessed to be busy in the winter months.  I have been booking weddings very quickly since the beginning of the year.  I always like to add a engagement shoot to the wedding packages that I offer.  That way I can get to know the couple and know what they are looking for.  Every couple is different so you need to know what each couple is comfortable with.  I love getting to know each couple!  You learn how they meet each other and what attracted them to each other.  I also want to let each couple that I am here to help them in any way that I can.  I also can not tell them enough how much of an honor it is to be there wedding photographer on their wedding day.

I also like using Piedmont Park because there are lot of wedding locations around the Piedmont Park so if the couple wants to we can visit their wedding venue.  There is the Georgia Terrace a wonderful historic hotel on Peachtree in downtown Atlanta.  There is the Fox Theater a historic theater with a wonderful reception hall and it is the place where I proposed to my wife.  Magnolia Hall is a wedding facility located in Piedmont Park! It is great place for wedding photography.

For your convenience I have made a map of some of the wedding facilities in Atlanta around Piedmont Park.
