Atlanta Wedding Photographers Support School in Haiti

The Atlanta wedding photographers at www.AtlantaArtisticWeddings.com are honored to support the Haiti Eco Villages at www.HaitiEcovillageSchool.org

To give you a little back ground on this wonderful organization. The EcoVillage school opened the first classrooms in the fall of 2014.  Today it serves 160 students from the 6 EcoVillages and surrounding rural area, teaching preschool through 5th grade.  A new grade is added each year as classrooms are built. When this phase is completed, it will meet the standards to qualify as a “fundamental school,” with 9 classrooms: Preschool through 8th grade.
Partners provide capital funding to construct buildings and buy furniture, as well as operational funding, including salaries, supplies and food for children.

The teachers and principal are fully certified and the school meets all the standards of the Haitian Ministry of Education.  Classes follow the curriculum established by the Ministry and are taught in the language of the children –Kreyol (Creole). We recently did a video promoting the school.  You can see it when you go to You tube or click on the video above.

Please help this wonderful cause.  you can make a difference and make a little part of the world a little better.  Let me tell there is nothing wrong with that!

Thank you so much for visiting if you would like more info please contact me and I will be happy to help in any way that I can.  Or you can contact Chris and Gordon at https://www.haitiecovillageschool.org/.

Atlanta Wedding Photographers Love Natural Light Photography

Natural Light Wedding Photography by www.AtlantaArtisticWeddings.com

Recently we had the honor of shooting at Saint Ives Country Club. It is a wonderful county club outside of Atlanta.  It has a club house on the north side of the property that is nestled beside the shooting range.  It has a balcony and veranda for wedding ceremonies and parties.  There is a ball room to the right when you come in to the club house.  Below that portion is a another meeting room for the bride to get ready.  This conveniently located next to the veranda.

The bride and groom were awesome!  They were so much fun to be around and were so thoughtful to one another.  The groom was always checking on her to make sure she had everything she needed.  She also was thinking of him and what he needed for the big day.

Well there is one thing that you can not control on your wedding day and that is the weather.  When it came close to the time of the ceremony came you guessed it...... it started to sprinkle a little bit.  As you can see the rain would not be good for a fragile dress like this.  So we had to look for options for photography inside.  When I first saw this dress I fell in love with it.  It is like a water fall that keeps flowing and the details seem to spread like a cloud across the floor.  It makes a very dramatic statement to say the least.  So when I was thinking of photographing it I was thinking of using dramatic light to compliment the grandeur of the dress.  I saw these big windows and the natural light coming from them and said I have to use those!  So what we did was cut off the lights in the room so only the light from the window was coming through brought that beautiful bride and her dress to the window and let the natural light coming from it do the work.  These Atlanta wedding photographers could not be happier with the results.

Thank you so much for visiting this Atlanta wedding photographers blog.  I hope that you keep coming by checking us out.  Please feel free to drop us a line at www.AtlantaArtisticWeddings.com and let us know what you think.

Color Bomb Wedding Photography!

The Atlanta wedding photographers at www.AtlantaArtisticWeddings.com were so honored to shoot this wonderful wedding this weekend.  The couple could not have been more gracious.  They are such a wonderful  couple who were so thoughtful to each other.

I wanted to give a quick shout out to say thank you so much for this great couples patience thought out the day.  They are also in the Air Force and I want to say thank you from all of us for their service to our country.

I have shoot a wedding a while back using color bombs.  I loved the results!  So this week when I left I took the color bombs with me.  I had checked the weather and it looked like rain so I wanted them with me just as a back up for some to do some creative photography.  We did all the photography after the wedding ceremony.  We were inside waiting for everyone to line up for the announcement to the reception.  Then I remembered the color bombs and brought up a example of the photos on my cell phone and showed them to the couple.  They asked me how long it would take I said 5 minutes at the most.  The excitedly agreed to do it.  We went out side lit the smoke bombs and took the photos and came back. The shoot with the color bombs literally took 4 minutes from the time they said yes to the time they came back inside to be announced.  That is what happens when you are open to ideas and want to have fun!

Thank you so much for visiting and I hope you come back! I would love to hear from you.  Please leave a comment and I promise to get back to you.

Thanks again!

THE ATLANTA WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHERS at ATLANTAARTISTICWEDDINGS SHaRE WEDDING RING DETAIL PHOTOGRAPHY

Recently I shot a wedding at a historic wedding venue outside of Atlanta.  As a Atlanta wedding photographer is a great opportunity to shoot at these old historic mansions that cover the landscape out side of Atlanta.
This particular wedding I arrived early to get some detail shots and lay of the land before the wedding.  So one of the firs things I take detail shots of is the wedding ring.  This particular ring was out of the ordinary and was so interesting.  I walked around the historic wedding venue and so many places caught my eye.  There was a wrought iron fence around the house and I used that for a mount for the rings since they were the same size as the bride and grooms fingers.  Then there was the gingerbread detail of the front porch that I thought was very interesting so I took the wedding ring there and placed in the curves of the detail.  Then finally I saw a antique baby carriage made of whicker on the side porch.  The whicker had this neat texture to it and complimented the wedding band.
There are so many quotes on wedding rings out there and they are quoted during the wedding.  They minister during a wedding will say that the wedding ring is a circle that has no end or beginning so like love it is never ending.  I always like that sentiment.  There is another quote I recently found below.

“A WEDDING RING IS A SYMBOL OF COMMITMENT; A PROMISE, A PLEDGE, AND A VOW. THE PROMISE IS TO FORSAKE ALL OTHERS, TO STAY DEVOTED AND TRUE; THE PLEDGE IS TO HONOR THAT PROMISE SELFLESSLY, TO SEE THE WHOLE THING THROUGH; AND THE VOW IS TO KEEP THAT PLEDGE UNWAVERINGLY, UNTIL THE DAYS ARE FEW. IT IS A MUTUAL AGREEMENT TO BECOME ONE INSTEAD OF TWO.”
