This week the Atlanta wedding photographers at have written a great article on all the latest ideas on wedding rings and bands.  They talk about how the wedding bands for the groom are more than just a band of gold now.

There is a beautiful wedding ring trend right now, especially for men. While engagement rings usually get all the hype, wedding rings are just one of those details that should never be overlooked in wedding photography. They are the outward symbol of the couple's love and commitment to each other. As an Atlanta wedding photographer, I see more and more often that wedding rings are becoming an expression of the couple's personalities too! I've always admired how a woman chooses her wedding band to match her engagement ring, but no longer do men wear a plain golden band. There are now so many options in unique wedding ring styles. I have gotten to see so many handsome wedding rings for men and alluring wedding rings for the bride.

These particular wedding rings have such a great story behind them.  The bride's wedding ring is a classic European style ring with ornate details and a center diamond.  You could almost see it in a 18th century painting.  It reflects the brides personality perfectly, especially when compared to the simple elegance of her wedding dress.   When I saw how unique the groom's ring was, I had to ask him about it. He said that it took him a long time to find a ring that suits him. When he found this one, he felt that it represents that life is both beautiful and messy at the same time. It was perfect.

The wedding ring you see above is what I call the white gold classic.  They did not go with gold or overly ornate wedding ring, but instead chose a simple white gold with diamonds that are subtle in design with a fascinating beauty. The diamonds are not too loud, but are displayed for light and to make a statement.  The bride's wedding ring matches perfectly and is small enough that she can wear with her engagement ring.

Atlanta Artistic Weddings shoots at Krog Street Tunnel

As a Atlanta wedding photographer I am so blessed.  I work at Atlanta Artistic Weddings and we get to work with some of the best brides.  We like working at the best locations for photography.  This Saturday we set up a photo shoot at Krog Street Tunnel.

I was recently contacted by a student that was in my classes at Emory.  He is a very talented photographer and more than that he is a super nice guy!  He wanted to set up day to shoot.  So this Saturday I did not have a wedding and he was in town.  I hired a model with a wedding dress and I made a map of photo locations. One of my favorite places to shoot is the Krog Street Tunnel.

The Krog Street Tunnel is a land mark in Atlanta.  It is known for the artistic graffiti that just about covers the whole tunnel.  It is a cool place for artist to express their-selves and makes a great back drop for photos.  It has been used in movies and I recently saw where it was used as a back drop on a television show.

We wanted the shoot to have a real urban vibe about it.  So the we had a modern fitted wedding dress.  It had long veil that we used for back lighting to give it some dramatic looks. We did some photos in Inman Park at the end of the tunnel in the street.  We also used the Krog street tunnel and the graffiti as the back drop to give it that "urban bride" feel.  I hope you enjoy the photos as much as I did taking them.

Atlanta Wedding Photographers | AtlantaArtisticWeddings | Engagement Shoot at Historic Mill

As a Atlanta Wedding photographer at AtlantaArtisticWeddings I get to shoot at so many wonderful places.  This week I got to shoot at a historic mill outside of the metro area and it was not in Roswell (hint hint).

Atlanta Wedding Photographer Shoots Engagement Session

This particular day everything came together.  We had some beautiful weather!  The sun was in a perfect location.  The couple could not have been more adventurous and fun!!  They were not afraid to climb on the dam and go where ever it took to get the good shots!  As you can see from the photos we got some really dramatic photos.
When chatting with this couple they wanted to shoot in a very natural setting.  They loved hiking and going on adventures.  They mentioned Roswell Mill and Piedmont Park for the engagement shoot.  I thought that we could find something more closer to where they live and a location that fits their personality.  After a little bit of research I found a park that is a little off the beaten path closer to them.  The park has a historic mill, mill run and dam!  I got their early and so I could check out the photo locations.   I even got out my drone for some aerial photography and so I could find the best places for photos.  The dam is beautiful and has a waterfall off to the side.  It makes for some very dramatic photography and just a fun place to shoot!  There are numerous large rocks and stone piers in the river for the stream to run around and over.
I hope that you come back soon and come back often.  Thank you so much for visiting this Atlanta wedding photographer's blog.  Please go to and go to the contact section and drop me a line.
